I believe we all are on a journey to become the best versions of ourselves and to have a better balance in our lives. On this journey, we can experience set backs which can be obstacles towards our best selves or balance. As a mentor once said to me, "Every crisis situation is an opportunity we can reflect on ourselves". I work in a partnership with the person to help achieve their goals and to become a better version of themselves. I believe in a hands-on approach using practical tools and interventions. I have experience with trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, grief, crisis intervention, and substances.
I am trained as a trauma therapist in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Polyvagal Therapy and am informed on CBT, ACT, and DBT therapy modalities. I am a licensed master social worker in the state of Kansas.
One of the most important things is to make someone feel heard and validated; therefore, I want to be able to create a safe place for individuals to do that. I like to meet the person who they are at with their healing. I like to walk side by side with the journey of recovery. I work primarily with adults but also enjoy working with kids and parents.
