Maria Arvanitakis, LPC (she/her)

Maria specializes in supporting individuals navigating grief, trauma, chronic stress, and the emotional and physical adjustments that often accompany chronic illness or disability. She holds a master's degree in Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she developed a deep appreciation for the ways health conditions can shape mental health, identity, and quality of life. Whether someone is adjusting to a new diagnosis or has been managing a condition for many years, Maria offers care that acknowledges both the visible and unseen impacts of these experiences. She also brings a thoughtful focus on women's health, including fertility challenges and pregnancy loss, holding space for the tenderness and complexity involved.

Maria's therapeutic approach is mindfulness-based, compassionate, and collaborative. She believes healing is not about "moving on," but about learning how to move forward with greater self-kindness, flexibility, and presence. Her work integrates evidence-based strategies with gentle body awareness, recognizing that stress and trauma are often held physically as well as emotionally. Having completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, Maria values the body as an essential partner in the healing process.

Maria welcomes clients wherever they find themselves-whether they are seeking practical tools to integrate into daily life or simply need a steady, compassionate presence during a difficult season. There is no expectation to have the right words or to move faster than feels safe. She understands that life can be deeply unfair and heavy at times, and she offers support grounded in respect, care, and human connection.
