  • Katie Brandau, LSCSW (she/her)

Hi there! I’m Katie Brandau and excited by the opportunity to work with you. I believe that everyone is doing the best they can and sometimes we get stuck in patterns that are not helpful for us. Together, I’d like to work with you in helping you get unstuck from those patterns . My goal in working with you is for you to feel safe in bringing your authentic self in all spaces of your life. I wholly believe that the client knows and understands themselves the best and my practice is guided from a client-centered approach. I want you to feel validated, heard, understood, and that we are working together in a partnership for you to reach your goals and aspirations. I have experience working with clients using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Grief Counseling and psychoeducation. I believe in holistic healing and would love to incorporate mindfulness, breath work, and yoga into sessions if the client is interested. Experiencing joy through humor and laughter is important to me, and I hope to experience joy with you as well. I have many years working with adolescents and young adults with identity issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, attention and motivation issues, and self-esteem/self-worth issues. I have nine years of experience advocating and supporting teens in their school setting who experience barriers to learning–both academically and socially/emotionally. I am a LGBTQIA+ ally and have experience working with people in this community. I practice from a social work lens, so how people interact with and are affected by systems and their environment is truly important to me, including equity and inclusion at the forefront of this conversation as well.

In my spare time I love spending time in nature and going on walks. I love to cook and practice yoga. I have two little ones that I love chasing around, swimming with and exploring the natural world with.
