Alex Hurt, Clinical Intern (he/him)
Alex is deeply passionate about working with clients in a way that feels authentic, respectful, and supportive. He believes that meaningful healing begins by meeting people exactly where they are, listening closely to their stories, and creating a space where they feel safe, heard, and understood. Alex brings an open, grounded presence to therapy and is especially skilled at building genuine connection and trust.
As a clinical intern in his final year of social work training at the University of Kansas, Alex works collaboratively with clients to understand their experiences and identify what support will be most helpful. He is thoughtful and intentional in helping clients develop clear, individualized plans for therapeutic growth, honoring each person's goals, pace, and lived experience.
Alex is a lifelong Lawrence "townie" and has a deep appreciation for the local community. As a self-described foodie and musician, he values creativity, culture, and connection, and he brings a strong sense of community awareness into his work. His background includes providing communal support through various community-based roles, which informs his holistic and relational approach to care.
Alex is clinically supervised by Linda Hoopes, LSCSW, and is committed to growing as a compassionate, attentive clinician. He feels honored to walk alongside clients as they navigate challenges, discover their strengths, and move toward meaningful and sustainable change.
